About the Event
It doesn't matter how fit you are or how experienced you might be at biking, your skills will mean little if you don't have the tools and knowledge to maintain your bike and keep those two-wheeled adventures rolling.Â
We ran this event last year and it was very popular. You can see the video by clicking here. Those who attended the last event could come along and learn about other aspects of maintenance, there is plenty to learn about bikes!Â
Bikes are notoriously complex pieces of equipment, which means that a lot can go wrong. Tires, tubes, chains, shocks, brakes, gears, derailleurs, the list goes on. Luckily, many issues that can arise on a ride are easy to fix if you're properly prepared.
This informal evening with the Shimano-accredited team at Edinburgh Bicycle Co-Operative, will see you getting hands-on with your own bike (so remember to bring it along with you) and we'll teach you the skills needed to carry out a range of repairs and how to inspect your bike so you're prepared for your next adventure.Â
We will be providing pizza, beers and juice to keep you fuelled for the evening at Edinburgh Bicycle Co-Operative on George Street, Aberdeen.Â
You will be split into groups on the night depending on what everyone wants to learn. We will cater for everything from changing a tube and inspecting your bike to bleeding brakes and setting up suspension forks.Â
Places are limited to 12 due to shop space so tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
SAC Members get 20% off all our event tickets as usual, just make sure you're signed in when you purchase your ticket.Â
